Calla Lily Flower Plant
Today I spent the day purchasing flowers at the local garden center. I purchased three calla lily plants, a few different types of lettuce plants, and a few other flower plants. After I got back from the garden center I planted many of the flowers and lettuce plants in my garden. The calla lily flowers were planted in my house planters. The calla lily flowers brighten up the house. Monday, April 27, 2009

Cally Lily
Today I purchased some calla lily bulbs. It is still too cold to plant my calla lilies outside. I will plant the bulbs in planters for now, then when it gets warmer the calla lilies will be planted in my bulb garden. Calla lily flowers are another one of my favorite flowers. I will be planting a mixture of different calla lily flower colors.Saturday, April 25, 2009

Okra
Okra seedling in one of my indoor greenhouse kits. Okra plants produce very beautiful flower blossoms. I like to eat the okra vegetables, but I really like the okra flower blossoms. Once the weather gets warm enough I will plant the okra in my vegetable garden. The okra pictured is from my second batch of okra seedlings. All together I have around 15 okra seedlings.Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Cotton Seedling
Photo of a cotton seedling from one of my indoor greenhouse kits. So far only 3 of my cotton plants have sprouted out. I planted 15 cotton seeds in one of my indoor greenhouse kits. Its been a while since I planted the cotton seeds, so I don't think that the other cotton seeds are going to sprout up. This will be the first year I am trying to grow cotton plants. Spring Gardening
Above is a picture from my spring flower bulb garden. Today, I cleaned my backyard for this year's gardening. I cleared the yard of weeds, dug up a new area in my backyard for vegetables, and dug up another area for flowers. My back yard has a lot of room for many different types of gardening. My backyard is 2,600 square feet. I use most of my backyard for vegetables and flowers. There will be many different types of vegetables to be planted in my gardens this year. Monday, April 20, 2009
Lily Bulb
Another lily flower bulb starting to come out in my summer flower bulb garden. My summer flower bulbs start to come out in mid spring and then usually flower around July. In around mid May I will be planting more summer flower bulbs. My summer flower bulb garden has freesia flowers, calla lilies, and many types of lilies.Sunday, April 19, 2009
Sunflower Seedlings
Here are some of my sunflower seedlings in my indoor greenhouse kit. I want to plant my sunflowers outside, but it is still a little too cold. The weather has been varying a lot this month. One day the high temperature is 40 degrees, the next day the high temperature is 70 degrees. I plant my sunflowers in my front yard. Saturday, April 18, 2009

Lettuce Plants
My lettuce plants are doing well. I had around 50+ lettuce plants growing from seed in a group. Today I thinned the lettuce plants and planted the lettuce singly. The lettuce vegetable plants are now around four to five inches high. Most of my lettuce was planted last year. I actually did not think that the lettuce was going to grow well in the spot I planted them in the fall. I had a large amount of extra lettuce seeds, so I just threw the lettuce seeds all around my vegetable garden area. The lettuce seedlings that did the best, grew in a bunch of around 50 plants. Since it is getting warmer, I dug up the seedling bunches and planted the lettuce plants separately.Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Pumpkin Seedlings
Above is a picture of one of my pumpkin seedlings. I purchased some giant pumpkin seeds online. So far only 5 pumpkin seedlings have started coming up. The rest of the pumpkin seedlings should be coming out in a couple of days or so. I am hoping that these giant pumpkin seedlings grow well this season. I have grown pumpkins in the past, but this is my first year trying to grow giant pumpkins. The seedlings currently are being grown in an small indoor greenhouse. Once the weather gets warm outside, the pumpkins will be planted in my vegetable garden in my backyard. In my backyard garden there is a section I have for large vegetables and fruits. Spring Snow
It snowed again here today. One day it is 70 degrees out side and the next day it is snowing. I had to protect my flowers that I already planted in the annual gardens. The crocus flowers, tulips, and daffodils handle the cold better than my other plants. I like how the flowers look with the snow in the background.Friday, April 10, 2009

Yesterday it snowed here. Now all the snow has already melted, the tulip flowers are blooming. A few more tulip flowers bloomed in my bulb garden today. Many of the tulips that bloomed were red. Some of the tulip flowers had red petals with a yellow center. The other red tulips had red petals with a black center. Saturday, April 4, 2009

Moon Flower Seedling
Picture of a moon flower seedling in one of my indoor greenhouse planting kits. I will be moving the moon flower seedling to larger containers soon, as the seedling get grow quicker than other flower seedlings. I started the seedlings in an indoor greenhouse kit, as it holds the seeds really well an is easy to transfer the seedlings to bigger planters. Wednesday, April 1, 2009
Small Columbine
This small columbine is starting to come out this spring. The columbine is in my perennial flower garden area. I have had this columbine plant for a few years. Columbine flowers are one of my favorite flowers to have in my garden. I usually plant at least one additional columbine plant in my garden every year. The columbine pictured will have a yellow flower in summer.
